Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ (born 27 October 1983 in Adana) is a Turkish actor and model.

Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ was born in Adana in southern Turkey. He is one of five children. His family sent him to Yenice Çağ Private High School where he excelled in basketball. His family later moved to Istanbul so his father could get medical treatment. In Istanbul, he joined the Ülkerspor sports club as a basketball player. "[1]

Tatlıtuğ was recruited by a modelling agency after his mother sent pictures of him. He won the "Best Model Of The World" modeling pageant in October 2001. Since then, he has worked as a professional model and actor. He also hosted some pageants and shows. The actor starred as the character Mehmet in "Gümüş" in 2005 alongside Turkish actress Songül Öden, who played the title role of "Gumus". Mehmet became Mohannad in the popular Arabic language soap opera version "Noor". The "AlArab Online" stated that the actor became "a heart-throb for many Arab women." He has done other shows such as "Menekse ile Halil," as he played a heart-throb man alongside Sedef Avci. In his latest TV series "Ask-i memnu" he appears with Beren Saat. He won the Altın Kelebek Award for the Best Actor in A Leading Role for his performance in Ask-i Memnu. He dated famous actress Meltem Cumbul who is 13 years older than him in 2009. But they broke up in August 2009. He is now shooting the second season of Ask-i Memnu.

He was dubbed "the Middle East's Brad Pitt".[1] He was chosen the "sexiest Turkish man alive" by the Turkish daily Hürriyet in July 2009.[2]
